Green Roofs

PROTECT YOUR BUILDING AND ENHANCE THE LOOK WITH MEMBRANE FLAT ROOFING

As our towns and cities increase in density, it is becoming even more important to safeguard our ‘green’ spaces to regenerate lost wildlife habitats and protect our natural heritage for future generations.

Modern planning policy needs to balance growing population demands against our social responsibilities to conserve the natural landscape and enhance our living environment.

We’ll beat like for like on price!

High-Tech’s partnership with Eco Green Roofs achieves these dual aims by offering sustainable roofing design that is not only kinder to the environment but actively promotes it.

Eco Green Roofs can play a key role in inner city regeneration policies, creating vast ‘natural havens’ in the midst of the urban sprawl. And they can help support the ideology of public and private businesses whose reputation relies on the highest ethical and environmental standards for their employees and the general public.

‘Green’ flat roofs can offer long-term financial savings.

Planning Considerations

‘Green’ flat roofs are often looked on favourably by planning authorities and can help a developer or private business to secure planning consent. In the case of redevelopment, permission for green roofs is rarely required.

Economic Benefits

‘Green’ flat roofs can offer long-term financial savings, with lower energy bills and impressive durability that reduces maintenance requirements.

Enhancing the Natural Environment

‘Green’ flat roofs offer endangered birds and other wildlife a new habitat in which to grow and thrive amid a concrete jungle.

More and more planning authorities are looking for building design which serves a social and environmental purpose as well as a practical one. We can help our clients to deliver long-term sustainability while simultaneously delivering a visual symbol of their commitment to greener living.

5 Steps to Success

A titanium dioxide top layer provides optimum UV resistance and is solar reflective, never requiring any type of covering-i.e stone chippings, solar paint or any other type of protective coating. A unique surface lacquer provides an easy to clean surface which is maintenance free and resistant to any air Bourne chemicals including unsightly moss and algae growth.

High-tech membranes are vapour permeable making it 100% resistant to blistering and as it is a breathable product it will eliminate the risk of condensation.

To achieve a great flat roof we swear by the following five steps:

STEP 1 - The waterproof Titanium Dioxide layer of your flat roof

Stabilised PVC Anti-Slip Membrane.

Our membrane has a unique save to walk on anti-slip finish. The membrane has optimum resistance to UV light able to cope with all climates worldwide.

This maintenance free roof system with no stone chippings, 100% resistant to moss & algae growth will never blister or become brittle and crack.

STEP 2 - Securing the high tech membranes over a separation fleece barrier.

Secure Fixing Installation | Mechanical Fastened Installation System.

Membranes are secured to the roof deck giving 100% protection against wind uplift. A guaranteed fixing method with no glues or resins and no temperature restrictions for installing.

All fixing points have a lap joint along with a fusion weld to permanently waterproof.

STEP 3 - Lap joints welded and waterproofing of roofing fixtures.

Fusion Welded Joints.

All joints carry 100% permanent weld, this gives the strongest joint and protection around complicated areas than any other system.

STEP 4 - Steel reinforced details, unique seal, waterproof wall joint, and prime-sealed up stands.

Prime & Seal Upstands | Secure Guaranteed Upstands.

Coated metal detail trim secured into brickwork thus allowing to cope with all building movement guaranteeing a 100% sealed upstand.

Due to the fact it is screwed into place and then waterproofed makes it impossible to fail like traditional lead or sealant flashings.

STEP 5 - Metal trims coated in PVC rood membrane, for a watertight, storm resistant, leak proof roof.

Steel Coated Reinforced Edge Trim.

Mechanically fixed coated metal edge trim with membrane fusion welded to metal creating a 100% watertight, storm resistant roof edge.

A roof finish which will never blister, crack, lift or warp, creating the strongest roof seal known to man.

Making The Right Choice

Who you choose to fit your roof is as important as choosing the correct roofing material. You only need to look at the history and proven track records of our preferred Single-Ply Roofing Systems over the past four decades, they carry the highest of accreditations, are aesthetically pleasing, environmentally friendly and are dominant in the very competitive architect driven commercial sector making it a very safe and economic choice for your home.

But did you know our preferred Single-Ply Membranes can only be purchased and installed by a licensed installation company? All our roofing technicians are required to undergo rigorous training at designated NVQ Training Centres.

The workmanship is continuously monitored and assessed to ensure a high level of stand the purchaser. Any one can call themselves a roofer and go to work. There are an alarmingly high number of workmen operating un-insured, this is due to the high premiums now required by the insurance industry and many have no Health & Safety Policy and Protected Guarantees.

We are licensed Installers and have built an untarnished reputation for first class workmanship, reliability and customer service. To become a licensed installation company the following criteria is required:

-A minimum of 5 years trading, sufficient public and employer liability insurance, trained in health & safety, employ only trained installation technicians, appropriate insurance backed guarantees & financial stability.

Unfortunately the flat roofing industry has no governing body overseeing quality of materials and workmanship protecting you –

High-Tech Membrane Roofing Limited is 100% committed to customer care and satisfaction and providing the very best in flat roof waterproofing, we are a safe and economic choice for flat roofing needs.

Warm Roof Insulation

Part L is the section of the Building Regulations relating to thermal efficiency standards and affects insulation and heat loss. The Part L Regulation is renowned for being a complex set of requirements, particularly with the amount of revisions it has seen over the past six years.

The 2013 changes will be the third of four planned revisions between 2007 and 2016 to help implement the zero carbon homes standard for which Government has committed to.

The 2013 amendments to Part L contain three key changes: Energy Performance Certificates, major renovation of existing buildings and the analysis of high-efficiency alternative systems. The latter are the two most significant changes for contractors.
